Rules of Use

General rules when using your Entertainment™ Book

1. Entertainment™ Gold Card
Your Entertainment™ Gold Card is included on page 6 of your Book. You can begin using it once you have registered. The Card is used to obtain the offers from the fine dining restaurants and hotel accommodation. Sign the back of the Card and carry it with you. It is not transferable. Do not lose your Gold Card – there is a $35 charge for replacement. The Card and Book are valid from now through the close of business 1 June, 2012.

2. Voucher sections
You don’t have to carry the entire Book with you, just detach and surrender the desired Voucher. Vouchers may not be traded or resold and are not transferable. Carefully read each Voucher before using. Offers apply only to the items and terms specified on the Voucher. Vouchers are valid from now through the close of business 1 June, 2012.

3. Presenting your Card / Voucher
Please present your Card or Voucher at the time you request your bill or make your purchase.

4. Not valid with other third-party offers
Entertainment™ offers are exclusive and may not be combined with other third-party discount programs.

Rules of use when using dining offers

5. Fine and contemporary dining section
It is not necessary to identify yourself as an Entertainment™ Cardholder when making your booking. Present your Entertainment™ Card at the time you request your bill to obtain fine dining offers at the restaurants listed in your Book. You may use your Card once at each restaurant listed in the directory. The restaurant’s assigned number will be removed from the back of the Gold Card after each use.

6. Valid anytime
Entertainment™ offers can be used at restaurants any time except the following days:

• Christmas Eve • Christmas Day • Boxing Day • New Year’s Eve • New Year’s Day • Valentine’s Day • Good Friday • Easter Sunday • Mother’s Day • Father's Day

Unless otherwise indicated, Entertainment™ offers are not valid on these days. For a list of restaurants who will accept your Card on these days, go to the Cardholder's area and check the updates and changes page for your Book

7. Main course offers
The restaurant will deduct the price of the least expensive main course(s), up to the maximum value stated on the Voucher or in the Book for that offer. Please note the following:

  • If two main courses are not ordered, the least expensive item(s) ordered as a main course will be deducted.
  • When more than two people are dining together, or if multiple cards or vouchers are used, the least expensive main course(s) of the party is / are the one(s) deducted.
  • If the restaurant is running a breakfast, lunch or dinner special, your Card is still valid. If it incorporates more than one course or beverages, the value of the main course portion will be deducted.
  • When adults and children dine together and two or more adult-priced main courses are purchased, the least expensive adult main course is complimentary. If only one adult-priced main course is purchased, then the value of the child's meal is deducted.

8. 25% off dining offers
When dining at a restaurant where the offer is “25% off the total bill”, the restaurant will deduct 25% off the total bill for the table, up to the maximum value indicated on the offer. If multiple Cards / Vouchers are used, the deduction is still 25% off the total bill, up to the maximum combined value of the Cards / Vouchers. See examples at the end of this page.

9. Dining in groups
When more than two people dine together, these rules apply:

  • One bill for the party – no separate bills
  • No more than three Entertainment™ Cards / Vouchers per party
  Number of diners 2 3 4 5 6 or more
  Maximum number of Cards / Vouchers 1 1 2 2 3

10. Solo dining
Although there must be a minimum of two diners per Gold Card / Voucher, some restaurants include a solo dining option clearly marked on the offer. These are valid only when dining alone and may not be used when solo diners join other people at a table. For 25% off solo dining offers, the maximum amount deducted will be the same as the main offer.

11. Dine-in
Restaurant offers in the Fine and Contemporary Dining, Café and Bistro Dining, and Casual Restaurant and Family Dining sections are valid for dine-in only, unless otherwise stated.

Please read each Voucher for terms and conditions.

Hotel Program Rules of Use

Enjoy 50% off the rack rate at leading hotels and resorts or 10% off the best promotional rate, whichever provides the greater value (subject to availability).

Book online via the My Bookings™ website or book by phone directly with the hotel:

  1. Phone the hotel directly using the hotel’s reservations number listed to make advance bookings.
  2. Identify yourself as an Entertainment™ Member at the time of booking.
  3. Check if the Entertainment™ rate is available for your travel dates.
  4. Receive a confirmation number and retain for your records.
  5. Present your Entertainment™ Gold Card at the hotel reception upon check-in.

The Entertainment™ rate
Your 50% discount applies to the hotel’s rack rate (the hotel’s maximum published rate that all rates are discounted from), based on single or double occupancy. If you have additional people in your room, an extra-person charge may apply. The 50% discount is off the rack rate and is valid for room only. This discount does not apply to special packages, seasonal, group or convention rates or travel agency bookings and may not be combined with other discount programs. Please note: some hotels may no longer have a published rack rate. In that case, you will receive 10% off the best available room or package rate at the time of booking, subject to availability.

Short-term specials
Hotels may offer their own promotional rates. These rates are short-term specials available to the general public during temporary or traditionally low periods. If these rates are the same or lower than those with your 50% discount off the rack rate, you will receive 10% off the best available room or package rate at the time of booking, subject to availability.

“Subject to availability”
The Entertainment™ rate is available for a selected number of rooms at each hotel or until a participating hotel expects to reach a level of occupancy whereby they can no longer accept any further discounted bookings, including the Entertainment™ rate. If you choose to travel during a busy season, you may find that the discount is restricted because of availability or may not be available every night of your stay. Please note: Most hotels accept reservations at any point prior to arrival. Some, however, only allow reservations to be made within 30 days of the date of arrival. They are indicated Book by an “R30” in their listing.

Minimum stays and block-out periods
Some hotels may have a minimum night stay requirement for all bookings made during peak seasonal periods. This requirement may also apply to Entertainment™ guests. Block out times may apply at selected hotels during peak seasons and special event periods.

Making a reservation
To access the best possible rates and other specials, book online at www.entertainmentbook.co.nz/mybookings. If booking by phone, you may call the hotel directly on the number listed and you must identify yourself as an Entertainment™ member. Hotels may discount only one room per Entertainment™ Gold Card per night. Advance reservations are required in all cases.

Hotel management policies
Before confirming your reservation, be sure to understand the hotel’s policy on advance deposits, cancellations and guaranteeing late arrival. Entertainment™ has no control over each hotel’s management policies.

Exclusive Members-only rates
These rates are only valid for Entertainment™ Members. Your Entertainment™ Gold Card must be presented upon check-in. Entertainment™ Gold Cards are non-transferable.
